Shipping & Delivery

Delivery charges are based on the dimensions, weight and destination. We work with various freight companies and couriers and automatically review the most cost effective shipping & handling rates to our customers for each & every order.

For customers located within Metro areas of an Australian Capital City (excluding Tasmania):

  • Order value $0 to $300 (exGST) : flat rate shipping cost of $27.50 (exGST)
  • Order value $300 to $700 (exGST): flat rate shipping cost of $35.00 (exGST)
  • Order value $700+ (exGST): flat rate shipping cost of $40.00 (exGST)

For all other customer locations:

  • Order value $0 to $300 (exGST): minimum handling/shipping of $27.50 (exGST)
  • Order value $300 to $700 (exGST): minimum handling/shipping of $35.00 (exGST)
  • Order value $700+ (exGST): minimum handling/shipping cost of $40.00 (exGST)

All orders are despatched from Adelaide, South Australia, within 2 business days of receipt. Please consider delays during peak periods, public holidays, extreme weather conditions or any shipping related complications out of Gala's control.

Adelaide/Melbourne  1 to 2 business days
Canberra/Sydney  2 to 3 business days
Brisbane/Darwin  4 to 5 business days
Perth/Hobart/Launceston  6 to 7 business days

Please note the above delivery time frames are an estimate only. Gala Imports is not liable for losses caused by delivery delays. As such, we strongly recommend storing sufficient stock on hand to avoid any unforeseeable delay.

All order are sent with an “Authority to Leave”, if transport company deem safe to do so.


International Shipping

We ship worldwide subject to quote and approval. Please email us with your address and product(s) you are interested in.


Collect In Person

For South Australian customers, we do have the option to collect from our Distribution Centre located in Direk, SA. This option will appear when you enter a shipping address with a South Australian postcode.

If you place an order for collection with Gala, our team will call and/or email you when the order is ready. Please ensure you do not attempt to collect until we he have called to confirm your order is ready. Orders for collection follow the same packing times as courier deliveries and will not be ready for collection immediately.

The hours available for collection are Monday to Friday 9am – 3:30pm

PO Box Delivery

We do not ship to PO Box addresses or Parcel Lockers - please supply a physical address as most transport companies we partner with do not allow for this type of delivery.


Track My Order

Once an order is processed and despatched, an email that includes tracking information will be sent to you.


Missing Products or Short Shipped

We have an efficient picking and packing process in the Distribution Centre however occasionally errors can still occur.

If you believe you are missing a product(s) prior to contacting us, please verify the following:

  • Ensure you have received the correct number of cartons that you signed for on the Proof of Delivery (POD) docket.
  • Double check that you have opened ALL the cartons.
  • Checked that the carton is completely empty, and the bottom of the carton is visible,
  • Re-check the discarded packing materials that an item hasn’t been inadvertently thrown out.
  • Lids and/or closures may be in a separate carton or included with other items in the same carton. Eg. under the bottles/jars,
  • Establish no one else has removed or moved items without informing you.

If you are missing a product, please advise us as soon as possible within 7 days of receipt by emailing full details to gala@galaimports.biz, our helpful sales team will investigate and resolve.

Ensure to include images of all products / boxes received + a detailed description of missing items.


IMPORTANT

Always check your purchases on receipt for shortages or damage. You must report any problems within 7 days of delivery. Claims for damage within transit require you to keep all packaging for inspection. We MUST insist you follow these instructions for claims. Any problems reported after 7 days from delivery are at the discretion of Gala Imports Australia. Please quote your order number in all correspondence.


Proof of Delivery

You agree that proof of delivery supplied by our delivery company is sufficient evidence to establish that goods have been received.
Unless otherwise specified by you, all risk in the product shall pass to you upon Delivery. If Delivery is delayed, risk shall pass at the date when delivery would have occurred. From the time when risk passes to you, we will not be liable for loss or destruction of the product.

The Proof of Delivery (POD) document is an official document where the customer confirms the receipt of the order or parcel(s). When the recipient signs the proof of delivery, it becomes a legally valid verification that all ordered things were delivered and are undamaged.

It is the recipient’s responsibility to make sure that they are signing for the correct number of cartons that you received as stated on the POD. If there is a discrepancy on the number of cartons delivered and the amount on the POD, this must be indicated on the POD by the recipient. Please accept the cartons and contact us immediately that you have missing or damaged cartons and contact one of our sales team who will follow up the query.
